The brief for this house extension was to demolish the existing lean-to at the back of the house and provide a new kitchen, laundry and outdoor entertainment area.
The new kitchen is configured to gain important function alignment as well as an island bench with integrated breakfast bar. The kitchen spills out onto the outdoor area via a glazed sliding door which can be completely opened up to provide for a full indoor – outdoor experience. A new skylight brings natural light deep into the kitchen. A slim, minimalist canopy frames the outdoor entertainment area and provides shelter from the elements.
Generally materials were selected for their robustness and ease of maintenance.
